POWER AND PRINCIPLES OF PROSPERITY

One of the most important needs for every human is the means of sustenance – food, shelter and clothing. Unfortunately, despite the advancement in the world and governmental effort to curb poverty, many are still having to live from hand to mouth. Is it a natural design that some should be rich and some poor? Is there a way out of poverty? This article presents a simple guide on the secrets of prosperity and power.

What is prosperity?

Prosperity is simply defined as the state of being successful, especially financially 1. According to the figure above, it is clear that you can be wealthy but not prosperous. God wants His children to prosper. Prosperity has always been the perfect plan of God for His people (Gen. 1: 29-30). According to 3 John 1:2, health, spiritual and soul prosperity must always precede financial prosperity.

Power for wealth creation

The power to get wealth comes from God (Deut. 8:18; Isa 48: 17; John 1:12; Ps 75:6; Job 9:4). We need to understand His plans (Job 36:11; Exo. 23:25; Ps 1:1-3; Prov. 14:23; Gen 26:10-14) for us and effectively pray (1Chr 4:9-10; Gen 32: 26-29; 2Chr. 1:11-12; Ps 118:25) to actualize His purpose for us.

The power to get wealth comes from God (Deut 8:18; Isa 48:17). First, we need to understand His plans, work / walk according to His principles of wealth and ask Him in prayers for maximum realisation of His purpose for us. Understanding, walking according to the principles and effective communication are the fundamental keys to wealth creation.

Principles for wealth creation

We must submit (Prov. 28:13; Ps 35:27; 122:7) to principles guiding wealth creation; have a saving plan (John 6:6-12; Prov. 18:9; Prov. 12:27) and perfect skills (Ps 78:72; Prov. 2:17; Eccl. 11:6; 10:10) to create enough wealth.

The partnership for wealthy lifestyle

To maintain our wealth, we must remain in partnership (Gen 39:2-3;23; Deut. 29:9; 2Chr 26:5; 2King 18:7) with God, we must not forget the pathway (Jos 1:7-8; 2 Tim 2:15; 2Chr 20:20; Prov. 1:35) of godliness and we must pattern (Acts 8:30-31; Jer. 10:23; 1Sam 25:6-7; Ezra 6:14) after godly mentors for continual flow of wealth.

Prayer points for prosperity

  1. Reject the mind-set of poverty. Ask God to enlarge your coast (1 Chron. 4: 9-10).
  2. Break all generational linkages that hinder progress and prosperity (delay, disappointment, failure, and sicknesses among others.) (Isa. 39:6-8 or 2 kings 20:17-19; Dan. 1:3, 6).
  3. The Lord will contend with them that contend with you and save your children (Isa. 49: 24-25).
  4. Your gifts will make room for you and bring you before kings (Prov. 18: 16).
